VIRGINIA K. TRUNKES is an associate with the firm involved with labor and employment, commercial litigation and real estate and construction matters.

Ms. Trunkes’ previous employment was with the Appellate Division, First Department where she handled complex civil and criminal matters, as well as emergency applications, learning the intricacies of appellate practice and litigation advocacy. With her specialized knowledge , Ms. Trunkes has presented at Continuing Legal Education classes on appellate practice.  She has presented at other CLE classes as well including “Getting it Right the First Time: Choosing the Appropriate Business Entity,” and “Workplace Horrors: Employment Discrimination.”

Ms. Trunkes is currently serving on the Committee on Courts of Superior Jurisdiction at the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and as co-chair of the Corporate and Commercial Committee of the Westchester Women’s Bar Association.  Previously, Ms. Trunkes served as the Chair of the Association’s Committee on Mental Health Law, as well as a Board Member and Recording Secretary of the New York City affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, or “NAMI.” Ms. Trunkes has written several articles, including several published in the New York Law Journal. Ms. Trunkes has also served as a small claims court arbitrator, and has volunteered in a legal advice and referral program and an elder law project.

Ms. Trunkes graduated magna cum laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and from Brooklyn Law School, where she was a Richardson Scholar and received the CALI Award for Excellence. She is admitted to practice in the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, the District Courts of the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, New York, New Jersey and Washington, D.C.
