PAUL F. MILLUS is a partner at the Firm concentrating in the areas of labor and employment, discrimination in the workplace and civil rights litigation representing employers and employees. He also represents litigants in commercial and real estate matters.
Mr. Millus was a former Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York from 1987 through 1989. Mr. Millus has wide ranging litigation experience in State and Federal courts addressing complex motion practice through trial and appeal. Mr. Millus regularly provides advice to employers concerning their obligations in the workplace including consultation on employee handbooks, discrimination policies, FMLA, FLSA, employment contracts, wage and hour concerns and all manner of workplace issues. He also represents employers and employees who have been victims of workplace discrimination.
Mr. Millus’ success representing many municipalities on Long Island including the Towns of Brookhaven, Hempstead, and North Hempstead, the City of Long Beach, and the Counties of Nassau and Suffolk provides an invaluable back drop to his representation of victims of civil rights violations in Federal Court.
Mr. Millus regularly lectures and has authored numerous articles on employment law, federal practice and civil rights law. He is former Chair of the Federal Courts Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association and a member of the Labor and Employment Committee; he is also a member of the Eastern District Association of former Assistant and Special Assistant U.S. Attorneys, serves on the Executive Board of the American Inns of Court – Theodore Roosevelt Chapter as Co-Program Coordinator. He has served as an Adjunct Professor at the Jacob D. Fuchsberg Touro Law Center. In 2009 he was named the Court appointed receiver by the New York State Supreme Court for the Atlas Park Shopping Mall in Glendale, New York making all decisions affecting the 406,362 square feet of retail, restaurants, office space and a movie theater.
In 2011, Mr. Millus was bestowed the honor of being named a “Super Lawyer” by his peers practicing labor and employment law. Mr. Millus has also been awarded the AV rating by Martindale Hubbell, the nationally recognized legal directory, signifying the highest rating for legal ability and standards of conduct and ethics throughout his professional career.
