APPELLATE PRACTICE While SKH&M is a small firm by New York City standards, the firm has gained a reputation over the years for being capable of addressing appellate issues in the state and federal courts regardless of the issue or the complexity involved. SKH&M goes above and beyond the practice of some firms who address appellate issues solely in conjunction with their representation of clients in underlying matters. Our litigators are also called upon to assist in appeals which were handled by other counsel in the lower courts because of our appellate expertise. We regularly appear before the First and Second Departments of the Appellate Division of the New York State Court of Appeals, United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and in one instance, the Supreme Court of the United States. The result has been over two hundred (200) decisions reported, most of which have been successfully resolved in favor of SKH&M’s clients on the appellate level. Our ability to interpret an underlying record, and to exhaust all available avenues of legal research results in an outstanding final product far superior not only to the work product of firms of equal size, but of greater size as well.
